US Golf Courses - Most any course can be played from the appropriste tees, these are courses I have played
or know to be complimentary to the use of these clubs. There are many classic pre-1931 courses that are great to play,
especially if they have been restored to there original characteristics.
The Kingsley Club - Kingsley, Michigan
It is one of the best and most challenging courses in North America. It's links like character makes it very complimentary to hickory play, but a high level of profientcey with hickory shafted clubs is recommended.

A private club, play it twice if you can get on, the first as a practice round is needed by most players.
Check out the photos of the course at their web site. www.kingsleyclub.com
Bandon Dunes Golf Resort - Bandon Oregon
This is the most links like golf I have been able to play in the US. The Pacific Dunes and Bandon Dunes courses are highly recommended. The new CB McDonald tribute course is getting some great early reviews and should be a wonderful experiance as a modern classic course.
Mid Pines Resort - Southern Pines, North Carolina
Home of the Annual Mid Pines Hickory Open
Designed by Donald Ross in 1921, and lovingly restored in 1994.

Wawashkamo Golf Club - Mackinac Island, Michigan.
Built in 1898, it has been faithfully restored to authentic condition. Many of the original (and unique) architectural details are present and lovingly restored. It is also the oldest continuously played golf course in Michigan. Rental wood shafted clubs are available.

Oakhurst Golf Links - White Sulfer Springs, West Virginia.
Built in the early 1880's, It was the first designed and constructed golf course in the US. It is available to be played using replica's of the original equipment or your own wood shafted clubs.
The
National Hickory Championship, a hickory tournament using 19th century clubs, is held annually at the course.

Old Bandon Golf Links - Bandon Oregon

Old Bandon Golf Links, a humble, public 9-hole restored course built in 1927. We cater to community golfers and tourism to our area. We currently have on hand 6 sets of 1890's gutty clubs for play with authentic modern made reproduction gutta percha balls and 6 sets from the 1920's rubber ball era
Should be a good place to get your feet wet if you are new to the game and want to give it a try.

United Kingdom - Every Links course in the UK should be played with hickories. I can highly recommend all of these. Most of the big names should be approached with some experience under your belt.
